Default BT down in Tramore

HI All,

My BT Broadband has been down since December 19th 2006! I've been on to customer service and Technical support loads of times, after an initially useless response from Customer service, I am at least now starting to get feedback from Tech support, who have even phoned me back on two occasions!

Apparently the fault is with Eircoms gear at the Tramore exchange - it is pretty slow going though , all the same !

Does anybody else know if I'm the only one affected or are there any more people down?

Andy

The thing is Andy, if you've been informed correctly by Esat's TS, then you can be sure that Eircom won't be in any particular hurry to fix things; unless it's affecting their customers too. The best thing to do is to keep on at them, and maybe even consider calling Eircom themselves (though they may not speak to you since you're not their customer).

Aside from that, all you can do is wait... I hope it comes up soon. An outage lasting a month seems beyond a joke. We're rooting for you!

Seifer.

Well, my BT broadband finally came back on line today in Tramore, 30th Jan - after countless 'Groundhog Day' scenarios with customer 'care' and tech support!, I complained to COMreg also, got a response, but didn't seem to make a lot of difference!

just over six weeks downtime!

Default bt ok in tramore

Hi Andy,

I'm in Tramore myself and although for 4-5 weeks there seems to have been a lot of outages it still seems to be up 90% of times I log on. Since xmas is a bit crazy. A couple of times I did call to check if it was down and they had an automated message saying there was problems, so I'd imagine it was country wide.
But I don't think all of Tramore is down and I'd be fairly suspect over what the call centres tell you, definitely try to get in touch with eircon if you can

Hi Sid,

Well since it came back on Jan 30th, it's been up all the time that I can tell (and it gets a heavy pounding in this house!)

It was an Eircom issue in the end, and from what I can tell, down to poor communication between BT and Eircom - Eircom thought mine was fixed when the original problem occurred before Christmas, but it wasn't

They have promised me a credit for the 6 weeks downtime, I wouldn't be surprised if I have to battle for that to actually happen too!
