Angry BT getting beyond a joke now

does anyone from BT come here ? i dont think so ,, i have sent emails, phoned (they seem to have no record of my previous calls concerning this matter ????) and i am getting nowhere, i might as well bang my head against the front doors of their offices for all the good it would do. my BB is a joke ,jumping from .2mb up to (get this) 3.7mb ( in the space of an hour ) and all i have is a 3mb account, i'm even having a hard time getting into my hotmail account . a friend gave me a trail ver of a proxy prog and i had left it running and forgot about it ,went to my email and got straight into it,, thought it was a bit strange so turned it off (proxy prog) restarted the pc and tried to access email, no luck ,, started the proxy prog and surprise surprise i got in in one go ..in case it was a fluke i repeated it again several times (25) and failed only once ,, there is something strange going on in BT if a proxy prog shows them up (the proxy prog had me going through saudi) and my web pages even loaded faster ,much faster .. anyone else have similar other than lost access?

if anyone from BT reads this can you PLEASE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER because this is beyond a joke and i am not laughing !!!!

Hi budrick1701e

I've been having similar difficulties with speeds on BT3Mbps. After many contacts with BT TS and numerous line faults logged with Eircon I finaly came to the conclusion that the problem is caused by Eircon over selling the capacity on local exchanges. The issue is not realy contention on your package but rather too many subscribers trying to suck out of the pipe supplying the exchange.

While BT TS have not yet managed to solve the problem they do keep me upto date on their efforts. Don't forget as BT are only reselling the Eircon Bitstream product and are not allowed access to the DSL equipment in the exchanges thus BT, you and me are dependant on Eircon's goodwill to troubleshoot and solve problems.

I have believed for a long time that Eircon do not care about any customers other than maybe their own, so we wait and hope that constant nagging BT TS will yield results. In the meantime try and get BT TS to escalate your issue to their 2nd level technicians.

BTW your proxy prog sounds very interesting. Could you share the details of how to get it for the benefit of the forum?

Question

i am definitely getting sea sick , my BB for the last 4 days has been up between 2.40 and 2.75 mbs . even the QOS is back to where it should be 98% . even upload has returned to near normal ,, my only question is now HOW LONG WILL IT LAST ?? . it will more than likely plummet back down to where it was by the end of the week OR maybe just maybe it will stay put ,, its so nice to dream like that isnt it ?

Hi budrick1701e

As a means of confirming what you think about BT have you seen what RoninIV has to say about the Eircom infrastructure and getting a fault staus query on your connection.
