Default Speedtest Problem

Since the new look speedtest including the VOIP test I can't seem to get a download speed result. The VOIP test runs fine as does the upload speed test. Updated to the latest Java but still get a NegativeArraySize exception. Not being too tech is this something at my end that I can fix?

Cheers.

PS This is in firefox. In IE I don't get either of the tests on the screen eventhough you're a trusted site. Is this normal?

Hi

I'm having the same issues as Markey regarding the test failing to show on screen using IE.

Before you ask, I've tried clearing the cache, temp files, restarted IE and my PC as well as hopping around the room on one leg 3 times but the java window with the speedtest is no where to be found.

I do have the latest version of Java installed and can run the speedtest, as well as the voip test, from here no problem.

Blacknight, could you look into this issue please.

Glad it's not just me then. That's saved me spending all Sunday fiddling with settings I don't understand to fix problems I don't understand. I have however had some success in the past by hopping round the room on one leg 4 times although it has to be anti-clockwise for it to work.

Thumbs down New Speed Test

The same as other users I have been experiencing the issue with the download speedtest which gives a Java error message "java lang arithmetic error / by zero". I have downloaded the latest Java software today which does not correct the problem. My Java software is Version 6 update 5 (build 1.6.0_05-b13).

Does anybody know a fix or if it is an error in the code for the speed test, I suspect it is a zero divide coding error.

Like Mikej, I am getting the same Java error message - "java lang arithmetic error / by zero". I have the latest Java and Firefox installed. Fix soon please as I need to moan to my ISP about recent download speeds!

Sorry about that guys.

We upgraded on Friday afternoon and weren't able to get any technical support until this afternoon.

It's all fixed and working now.

VOIP test + standard speed test should be working fine.

I'll see if our development team can look at some of the other options the new version of the software offers

I'll try to keep you posted

Hi Blacknight

The speedtest still does not work in IE. The java window does not open. The test works ok using other browsers, even the now obsolete Netscape.

This seems to be an IE only issue and as IE is my default browser perhaps you could look into it again.

Many Thanks

Howfast

I tried the following browsers on Windows XP SP2 with the following results:
  • Internet Explorer 7 - Fail (Google ad instead of graph)
  • Firefox 2.0.0.12 - Pass
  • Firefox 3.0 beta 4 - Pass
  • Opera 9.26 - Fail (Google ad instead of graph)
  • Safari 3.1 - Pass
As it's working in Firefox and Safari, it may be worth checking the source that embeds the graph in case it is just a typo in a script, HTML tag, etc.

Nice new test for the VoIP / Data streaming

Chill culli. Its a free service that blacknight provides. If it dose not happen quick enough for find somewhere else that will give you the same service for free. Any problems that have been found on the site have been fix as soon as possible by BK and CO.

Hi BK

The speedtest applet does not open at all. We get the drop down menu for selecting isp and connection speed and plenty of ads but no speedtest.
