i have tried to use the speed test tonight but it fails to load the test. is there some glitch with the latest java updates? i am currently using jre version6 update14.

I am having problems as java is not loading after Mac OS UPGRADE YESTERDAY
any idea why this is. Have uploaded latest versions

I'm glad I ain't alone with this problem!

Yesterday and today I have tried checking my Broadband connection speeds (in Co. Roscommon) and the Java-powered test won't load. It just gives the 'Java' symbol and annoyingly nothing else. Well, not quite nothing - the whole Speed Test programme freezes and then I lose my temper and say: "Oh, bother...!"

This is extremely frustrating and I intend to actually stop using this particular Speed Test service if it continues.

I have updated Java just the other day, but the problem also happened occasionally in the past before I had updated it.

No being an expert in these matters, I don't know what's wrong. But, at least now I know that it is happening to other people.

Believe me, I do feel your pain!!!

Why didn't I read here first. Spent last 3-4 days trying to run speed test and almost resulting in hair loss. Trying to run courseware which is also not working may be a common theme running through.

Java test form Jave shows dancing duke whick is to undicate that Java is installed correctly and working.

Eircom also have a speed test however it only indicates speed, and what ever the result they are satified as it is accepable levels.

Back again, I have email SPEEDTEST WITH NO REPLIES
I run a mac and have tested in Safari and Firefox and same result

I assumed it was something to do with the Mac Update I did. Ar you all running Macs or windows PC's?
Or is this a common problem

Hi All

Java is fine, this appears to be an issue with the test on this site.

Don't forget this site is maintained free for the benefit of all who use it, so have a little patience while you are waiting for Blacknight to fix the problem.

In you really can't wait then try another version of the test here.

ran the test from 365 and it worked. It worked so well that it comfirmed that I need to up grade as 1mb is not much use any more.

It amazing how fast you have to go to keep up.
