Is it just me or did we get an extra hundred members or so

One of the other things we changed was that you now have to be a registered member to use the test and view your past results

Ah I see. That will probably mean quite a lot of inactive members when it comes to posting. Do you think?

Possibly, but if users want to view their past results etc., they need to be registered

Perhaps the fact that people have to become members will encourage them to post some messages. Ive noticed that six of the ten new members on right now are viewing posts.

I saw a post on boards.ie posted by flamegrill, which was talking about this site, so I said that I would sign up, because I quite like this test, as it was the one that I always used before, so I don't want to lose out on it

Hey michele,

I used to read all of the new posts but now with all the new members we are getting bucket loads of them. It takes quite a while to read through them and reply to some. Thats probably a good thing. How are you managing seeming as you probably have to answer to most of the queries that come up in posts. Must be taking up more of your time.

mick

Mick - I don't mind. The volume of posts isn't that high yet and I already manage several other forums and am about to launch a new one

Steve,
I'll agree with that Steve and I have listed the speedtest in a speedtest section on my ISP forums to see what others think. So far those that have tried the test think it's also pretty accurate. I've been comparing a fair few speedtests from various sites and ISPs and have narrowed it down to 3 for accuracy.

Regards...

Tom

Hi-Velocity user forums BK, where I'm one of the mods for our ISP. I've been actively trying to find the most accurate test for our users and yours is one of them. I've given the link to your main page: http://www.irishisptest.com/ : so that people can see what's required when wanting to use the spedtest.

I'v also recommended your test on ADSLGuide a few times in recent times also.

I'm pleased that you have created the ability to register and see the previous 10 speedtests as it's a very handy tool for people who are having speed issues and need to keep a track record to hand.

For me and others up North it's very handy being able to use and compare speedtests from Ireland and Mainland UK.

Another test that I have found quite handy is the one at : kbps.co.uk as it's quite customisable and also pretty accurate also.

Best regards...
Tom

Some good, others not so. Worth checking out.

Cheers for the link Mick. I have a fair list of speedtests from various providers throughout the UK and other places which I have published on my ISP forums and asking people to give feedback.

Regards...
