Default Speed test quirks?

When I start a speed test I quickly get a reading for the download & download speeds, for example 984 down & 690 up. There is then a long delay after which the remaining readings pop up - quality of service 83%, round trip time 34ms & max pause 257ms BUT the upload speed has fallen to 0.72 kpbs!

Is this behaviour normal i.e. reduction in upload speed & long delay or does this indicate a problem?

I too think there is a problem, I have a 4Mb feed and I see 4Mb Download and anything up to 30+Mb Upload.

Id guess your on a 1Mb line then. 600kb isn't great if you are. 800 would be acceptable to me. Who's your provider?

Hi I'm on a bt 1M and reguarly get 840, worst it drops to is about 811, so less than 700 for 3M is terrible you should expect about 2400

Question why not

why dont you save some money and switch to a 1M, it shouldn't affect your speed as you are getting speeds worse than a 1M already! what I mean is if your only getting 650 on a 3M link then you should still get 650 on a 1M link
