Exclamation Problems With Dell Order

i ordered a dell system for my sister on 30/11/07 and dell took my order and sent an order confirmation which had several mistakes including address wrong name wrong and also wrong monitor

but i did not notice this as i was too busy trying to be understood by the salesperson! he even had difficulty understanding my emails!

Dell delivered the monitor which is 17" standard not the 19" widescreen that i ordered using their own online customising program! and also they now tell me that the 1gig ram is not sufficient to operate with windows vista home premium!

i should have been told this when i ordered but again the salesperson seemed blinded by commission to worry about what a customer might want or need!

also there might be an element of fraud here as there is a €70 difference in price between the two monitors!(confirmed by Dell) i paid for a 19"widescreen but they supplied a cheaper and inferior monitor!

anyone had similar experiences with pc's?

Some of Dell's sales staff are excellent

Some of them are idiots

Fortunately we spend enough money with them to have an account manager etc., so we don't have to deal with this kind of issue

They're a big company, so you can be unlucky

You can return the system if you received it less that 7 days ago (i think, it could be longer). Just phone up Dell and tell them that you are not satisfied with the PC and want to return it. Usually they'll offer a €100 or some credit, put ignore all this and tell them you want a refund.

Then when they collect it, wait about a week for the money to get back into your account. Then re-order with what you need! Easy!

yeah emailed them asking them to collect it for refund and would either re-order or probably shop elsewhere.
