Default Managing Music on your ipod

What's the best way of managing music on your iPod?

I've been trying to use the iTunes software, but it's not proving that helpful. I got a load of music onto the device, but I can't see how to get the music off it..

iTunes is kind of a one-way street for managing your iPod. You can download to the iPod from iTunes and then delete stuff from the iPod. I suppose the idea being that if you have it in iTunes in the first place, why would you need to take it back off the iPod?
That being said there are tools out there for getting files off the iPod. Haven't used any, so can't make any recommendations

Not so much getting the music off the iPod but more a case of deleting it so that I can change which music I have on it
Sorry if I wasn't very clear

Plug your iPod into your PC and it should launch iTunes. You will notice a little iPod symbol at the bottom of the iTunes window on the right hand side. There are about for or five symbols, it is the first symbol on the right. Click on it and you should be in the 'Music' category. Currently an option of 'Automatically update iPod' is selected. Beneath that you can click on a button to enable 'Manually update iPod'. When you have this option selected, you can select one track or as many as you want and hit the delete button which will get rid of any songs you don't want on your iPod. It is also handy for making playlists of your tunes for different moods!! You mustn't like reading manuals

I'm still playing around. I found that the open source gtkpod handled things a lot more sanely when I was running linux, but forgot to unplug the iPod when I booted into windows.. End result being that all the songs I had removed ended up on the ipod again *sigh*

Thumbs up Ipod music

Hi All,

Ipod is actually a separate minisized computer optimised to play music, movies and store information for you to access, however due to it's size, no input was designed for it as you will need to carry a laptop for music! The way to manage anything on the Ipod is to use your iTunes on your computer.
As it has a hard disk, you can use it as an external harddisk and store photos or data, just need the appropraite connections and also activate the disk for storage usage. You can do it in the Ipod icon on the iTunes as mentioned in an earlier thread. The apple website for Ipod has loads of info for you to do with your Ipod. Hope that bamboozle your brain.
I have an Ipod 60 gb and the deliver time is 3-4 working days. Works very well for me. However you are warned that if you want to broadcast your music by shortwave radio the reception like all radio are affectged by position and distance etc. I got one and noticed it isn't all that great, got it cheap off the Ebay from a vendor, almost save 30 euros on it.
The best way to stream your music to your home system is using airtunes which has no interference and quality is excellent. However you need to use a wireless computer......bother!!!
