Hi All,

Anyone here play LOTRO ? I am a level17 Elf Champion. Not usually into these types of games but this one has me hooked!

What's the gameplay like?

Quite good. Contains different quests. Some you can do alone, some you need to join a fellowship with other online players. Nice feature also called Monster play where you can create a whole new character and conjure him up by visiting particular areas. its like a second game and you get to fight other online users... its one of those very addictive cant switch off type games which isnt necessarily good when u r on till 2am and up for work the next day

Is it 100% online or do you need to install loads of stuff on your PC as well?

I used to play world of warcraft for a while, SO addictive, is LOTRs better??
Is it worth giving a shot?

Never played WOW. LOTRO is superb. Great fellowship quests where everyone has to really work as a team and the Monster Play side of the game is great craic. Yes you do need to install stuff locally. It also updates stuff on your PC locally from time to time. Its not cheap. you buy the DVD for about 40quid and get 1 month gaming.its 100 odd euro per year after that to subscribe or 10 bucks a month

Sounds really expensive!

Hopefully these mmorpgs don't eat away from the FPS games that lots of people play - mmorpgs just make people play more and more since time = stuff in game where as with most other games skill = stuff in game.
