Default Internet Explorer Vs Firefox

I'm new to the forum & I love online debates so I thought I would kick off my first post with this, I only just downloaded firefox and i love it, my vote goes to firefox and i will never go back! I mainly like it because it has tabbed browsing, its fast, includes spell checking, you can add extra plugins & extensions! if you use firefox already, upgrade to firefox 2 now, if you don't have it yet, download it FREE from: Firefox

Which do you prefer? please cast your vote & give your views...

Well I have used Firefox for some time now and wouldnt go back to IE.In fairness IE now has tabbed browsing as well and Im sure an IE fan could put together a good argument in its defense.
With Adblock Plus and Adblock Filterset.G Updater(amongst other extensions)I love my Firefox

Hiya, I have downloaded Firefox and Netscape Navigator as well. The only issue I have with Firefox/Netscape Nav is that some sites are a bit thrown off alignment, however, this is also true of some on Internet Explorer too. I do feel that Netscape Navigator is the fastest of the three browsers though.

Prefer Firefox over IE any day !
The ability to add-in features is fantastic.

The problem is that in some cases websites are set up with MS software and are so non-standard that only IE can read them properly.

To be fair though other Browsers (Eg. Opera) should also be included.

I use Opera also, as one site I need to use only works correctly with Opera, partially works with Firefox, and does not work at all with IE.

The site owner claims the bugs are in IE and Firefox, and he is probably right.

Thanks

You can get IE Tab for that.

True, but I'd rather not visit them !! than keep adding workarounds for people too oblivious to the rules, or are too lazy to test their web pages.
If I'm in a good mood, I politely point it out.
If not, I might tell them that basically their website s---s !!

Thanks

Just incase you didn't realise this type of pool has been done before and firefox won by a long shot.

Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer ?

Also you shouldn't download firefox from website like the one linked in the first post - they might have unwanted attachments, plus those websites aren't linked to Mozilla in any way. You should only download Firefox from the official page @ Mozilla Firefox in English | Mozilla Europe

I use Firefox, but sometimes I use IE for when Firefox won't load a video on a webpage. I've tried Opera and didn't like it so Firefox for me.

You know a few words come to mind like (Bloatware~Hype~Bull****e) When You ask Your Browser to do things it wasn't made for(via Add~ons) it gets rather Bloaty like this postbut the determining factor for Me was a article I read exposing the results of a Battery of Security Tests thrown at the two browsers (FF &IE).It addressed the security of FF as opposed to that of IE & in short FF was no safer than IE.(Straight-Up) Now I'm sure My post will cause a Bad~Head~Rush amongst those of you who know better so Google the subject like I did.
After all who's word are You taking that FF is any easier/safer/faster or more compatible than IE? was it a rummor? or the vendors Hype/Claims?
I meen come on You know the vendors going to tell You his product's the best just so You'll buy it/use it.
For Me The bottom line with FF is:
#1 Alot of sites will not work with FF "Read user's comments even in this thread"
#2 It is No Safer than IE "Google it"
#3 It is No faster than IE "That totaly depends on Your ISP & how many addons you have lol"
#4 It has Tabbed Browsing "Pages stack Horizontally rather than Vertically"
The bottom line with IE is:
Exactly the same as listed above for FF.
What do I use;
I picked a simple and reliable browser "IE6" along with AVG Anti-Spyware & Nod32 & Comodo, they're all 4 slim & trim & the best at what each does & thats all they do! Proven not by vendors Hype but by independent third party test's & research & awards Year after Year.

Default Firefox

Fire Fox wins hands down with a bit of patience with add ons which work if you install them after program is installed!!, IExplore uses up too many resources, CPU, Memory, Firewall etc oh and only use one firewall if possible, preferrably the one on your antivirus software or else they will fight with each other in windows and slow your page loading speed RIGHT DOWN, Fair enuf Iexplore is probably more secure but with so many security checks on pages it is slower to load em, and the reason i stuck with FireFox is coz Norton internet Security is good enuf for any browser, oh and yes had to mess around with check boxes in security and privacy in Firefox to get some sites to load if that answers any1s questions! Staying with FireFox!!!

I love Firefox and it use it instead of IE7 most of the time.
Firefox is a complete and utter memory hog though - just checked task manager and FF's memory usage is 57,000k right now compared to IE7's
3,000k.
It's worth the memory loss all the same...

Default Memory

Your right just checked my memory usage for FF and its up at 90,000 I suspect this is due to the add ons, have a live radio strem tool bar running in backround and it uses WMplayer but yeah worth the memory loss, IExplorer is integrated into the whole windows system so would explain why its easier on memory
