Default Komplicated Komplett

Hi,

I've had a problem with Komplett recently. I'd ordered a LCD TV on the 25th of Nov, it was due to delivered the 3rd of Dec. (According to their website.)

But this didn't happen and I've been in touch with them and now it looks like it won't ship till the 28th of Dec. Arrival at me by 3rd of Jan or something like that.

I think it's a poor service when something gets delayed a month, especially when I've been told THREE separate dates prior to the 28th... (which makes my doubtful that the 28th is accurate)

But this is my question do I have any recourse other that just canceling the order?

I've dealt with Dell in the past and their customer service for XPS owners in EXCELLENT!
Shame Komplett don't have a clue about customer service / running a supply business.

Apart from cancelling the order there probably isn't a lot that you can do, as they are probably covered by their terms and conditions.

I haven't ordered a lot of stuff from Komplett, but I've had mixed experiences with most vendors at some point They always have delays when you least want them to!

I've pretty much ordered everything pc/home electronics wise the last three years from Komplett with few problems. I think the biggest problem I ever had was once about a year ago when they thought I would like their *unsolicited* spam some time back, otherwise it's been a good source for products.

If you haven't yet received the goods, you can usually cancel the order with them (you may have to push the sales guys around a bit, but with some perseverance it can be done).

Yeah,

But thing is I don't want to have cancel - I ordered the TV because I wanted it!

It might be a good idea to get in touch with the European Consumer Centre in O'Connell Street, as Komplett are based in The Netherlands and are governed by Dutch and not Irish law. It will be interesting to see what advice they give you. Changing the delivery dates like that is bad and should make you wary of ever dealing with them again. I presume you wanted the TV for Christmas. Maybe in the long run you might be better off getting it here and cancelling Komplett. Just a thought.

Well it was Komplett.ie (the irish site), and they are registered as a business somewhere near Dublin airport, so I guess really they are subject to Irish Law.

... and yes you're right I did want it for Christmas. I ordered one month in advance which should have been plenty of time.

I must say I've grown weary of their customer service agent who I won't name and shame here, but his/her attitude has been less that helpful - basically "yeah, yeah,....... if you don't want to wait you can cancel".

Seems to me like an indirect way of giving two fingers to someone over the phone.

Actually had a on-line chat with a representative (could have been the same person); (direct quotes)

BrianMcEire: that's incorrect, i ordered one that was due in on friday
BrianMcEire: as in friday 30-11-2007
Komplett Customer Service: The dates provided are unconfirmed dates only.
BrianMcEire: are you kidding me/
BrianMcEire: ?
BrianMcEire: that's not a great service
Komplett Customer Service: When an item is not stocked, we update the website with the latest unconfirmed date from the supplier. The product can arrive with us before or after this date.
Komplett Customer Service: The fact that we provide a date at all could be argued to be very good service.
BrianMcEire: Really! Bad info is worse than no info.

I guess I was a little peeved in this chat (just found out about 2nd of 4 delays!!!), but correct me if I'm wrong but does the rep come off as more than a little full of s****!

In any case if its not sitting in front of me when its due this time - i'll be having the "craic" down the phone to my rep.

Very interesting response. It is obvious that delivering items within a set time period is not one of Komplett's plusses. You say they are registered as a business here, where did you find them? I checked the CRO database and they are not in it. GLS Ireland are their agents here because if you have any returns it is through them you send it. I can confirm however that all items ordered from Komplett.ie are shipped from Holland via the UK and not direct. So regarding your TV my previous suggestion applies. Try and get it here or Northern Ireland and cancel Komplett's order because come January they will possibly have another excuse.

Interesting info - thanks.

The reason I went with the initially is because they were €650 cheaper than my local shop, and unfortunately my local shop (a sony centre) is unlikey to drop in price any time soon. And every where else I've tried is even more expensive again.

And yes to your last point, I'm highly suspicious that it will be delayed again. I think they are waiting for the market to go down in price so that they can actually get the TV at price offered to me.

Its all getting a little fishy, needless to say I won't be dealing with Komplett ever, ever again after this episode. And of course will inform colleagues of my distrust with Komplett.

So it turns out the Komplett.ie site is coming from the Netherlands.

Maybe I will get in touch with that place on O'Connell Street in time.

I Have Had good and extremely bad dealings with Komplett, I purchased a 32"inch LCD tv that was faulty and I had to wait 4 months to get my tv back off them, I would strongly advise you to get your money back as you could possibly be left waiting till feb.I have purchased at least Eighteen products off of them and If you have any problems It is a lot of hassle and they are extremely slow in Returning faulty goods. I hope I'm wrong and U have no more problems with them but I doubt It.

Hey,

Thanks for the warning about return policy.

I have already sent the rep an email on Friday night about return policy and I'm expecting a response Monday morning.

If its not up to scratch, I might have to cancel.

Personally as I've said before in this page, I wouldn't deal with them again, to much fishy business with dates of delivery and prices.

The TV is a sony. So it should be good quality and lacking any problems - we've never had a problem with a sony previously. So hopefully returning will not be an issue. But I don't trust komplett for a second, so getting it in writing before hand is a MUST!

Brian

You can see that there are others that have had issues with Komplett.ie. So cancelling the order with them now might be a good idea. If the comment from Eoo is anything to go by then there is no way I would deal with them for something large and I think you should consider the same. Komplett may be good for small items but when it comes to large items forget it. As your particular preference is Sony try some of the well known UK dealers, as they have some good deals and along with that Sony products that are sold here are now distributed from the UK, as Sony Ireland is no more. I also suggested Northern Ireland. Towns like Newry & Enniskillen give good value for the Euro, so you may get your TV at a good price there.

Hey Brian

I recently Bought a 40" Sony from a local dealer in Dublin and their are good deals to be had in local shops for sony tv's and you would have the piece of mind if their was an issue with the tv as returning it would be a lot less hassle, I know it would be more expensive but I bought my Tv from peats and they have good prices on Sony lcd's at the moment. I would just not like yourself to experience what I went through with Komplett.ie.

I tried peats for the tv I was looking for and no sign of it on the website.

Ah well only 7 days to postage! So 10 days to LCD tv fun!

I've CANCELLED the order.

I was told it was now delayed to the 5th of Jan.

If you're reading this avoid komplett like the plague.

They will LIE about the delivery date to keep you from cancelling the order and when it gets close they push it back 3 weeks.

I do mean LIE, complete rubbish. I wasted a month waiting for Komplett.
If they had any bit of "service" I would have had my LCD for Christmas.

Also, on a side note, the sales rep's are inanely repetitive...
"Due to circumstances outside our control we have to delay your order"
(I actually received this no less than 4 times, that's 5 delays in all!)

I'm going with Dell instead 200 more expensive, but they actually have it.

My last purchase (and most likely it will be my last ever) from Komplett:

Bought a vga card that, while the order was still in process, got some 20% cheaper.
So as i didnt receive the item yet i send them an email wondering if something could be done.
Now i know that they are in their rights to say "screw you, you had bad luck" but i really could not appreciate the fact i was more or less literally told that.
The guy answering the email was a complete cockgobbler and should be taken out of customer service immediately.

I can understand they didnt refund the 20% but maybe they could have offered free shipping for my next purchase. Or if even that wouldnt be possible, tell me politely to feck off.

I was happy with them but the way they spoke to me made them lose a customer.

Yup customer service is horrible.

Do you by chance remember the name of the rep. first name of mine was Hugh. Same b/s for a month.

What I really should have done was cancelled after the first delay.

Really annoyed with Komplett. If the rep had told me that it was going to be delayed I could have had a new tv for Christmas.

In any case the message remains the same - AVOID KOMPLETT

.

AVOID KOMPLETT

Guys name was Ristaerd or something like it. Sounds Nordic to me which makes sense as as far as i know it is a Norwegian company.
Komplett has quite a few different websites, for a lot of european countries they have a separate website.
And if i remember well it can make a difference in price depending of country.

It's all to do with Sales Tax (VAT), I think.

I've never had a problem with Komplett. However, I'm probably just lucky. I have never ordered anything from them that hasn't been in stock, and have had in total around 5 dealings with them.

Thing is, in light of what has been told here, I'm actually seriously considering heeding the advice given to avoid them at all costs!

Finally, I'd like to point something out. I was told by one employer in the past that for every happy customer a company has, those customers will tell two people to bring their business to them. But, for every unsatisfied customer, those customers will tell eleven people to steer clear. So, all in all, they're only making it worse for themselves.

Default Komplett!

Been reading with interest the experiences of dealing with Komplett. I haven't dealt with them myself and now probably never will, but thought you might be interested in a company I found when trying to buy a printer over the Christmas break. After browsing around I had a look at PC World only to find you can't yet shop online with their Irish operation. Their site directed me to an associate company Pixmania, that I had never heard of. They are at http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/home.

I found the printer I wanted at 2/3rds the price elsewhere and it was in stock. Paid for it on Stephen's Day and got a mail on Friday to say it had been despatched by UK Parcel Force. They take laser as well as credit cards. Provided the printer arrives and it's new and it works.... I'll definitely be back to them.
Happy New Year to all.
Regards,
Dickiesam
