Hello Garp242,
I'm not in your area, I'm further east in north Wexford. But, as I posted some time ago my experience of wireless has been good. I'm with Regional Broadband since last July, basically because there was no-one else able to give me a broadband connection. The Eircom exchange is only about 500 yards away but, according to one 'straight-talking' local Eircom engineer, it would not be enabled until hell freezes over or I'm in the local cemetery!
I have their basic package, 1 Mb down, 1/2 Mb up, for 35 Euro a month, and apart from the occasional glitch when speeds drop off, I am getting around 85% to 90% of the package speeds. 1 major outage on a Saturday morning couple of weekends ago caused by a transmitter fault was fixed by 10 AM the following Monday. Even at the lower speeds, its still a damn sight faster than the dial-up I had to tolerate for the previous 10 years. Plus, I get access to the web 24/7 at a third of the dial-up cost.
So they are not all bad, probably most of the bad ones have oversold their connections, under-specked their equipment in the first place, and are very slow to upgrade and invest.
Anyone else out there who is happy? I think we are quick to complain when things are bad and slow to praise when they are good.

Cheers,
Dickiesam
