Default Great Memory Deals From Dell

anyone else checked out the great offers on the Dell site recently? was looking at memory and 2x1gig modules for my dell pc were priced at just over €30 so i proceeded to ring them to place an order...........

the sales person took my pc details and came back with a price of €148 PLUS delivery, which should be free until may!

i enquired about the part number and a quick google revealed the memory he was selling me is not even for my inspiron desktop.

i suppose i have no option now but wait until dell sort themselves out overnight and ring me back tomorrow to take my order but what an awful experience to be met with sales staff who have no idea about anything!

Why not just find out what memory your computer will accept and go find a set yourself?
You are always gonna get ripped off buying off the manufacturer.
You can buy good brand name memory now for really cheap.

the problem is with being offered 2 memory modules on the dell site for €30 and then when i rang to order they insisted the price was €148 and also €131 when i rang them back today!

surely that's false advertising at least!?!

I understand your complaint but I dont think my suggestion was very off topic.
People always complaining about Dell this and Dell that.
But still they buy from them.
So they didnt update their website, thats all they have to say to get off the hook and you can be sure that a disclaimer regarding these "errors" exists somewhere in the samll print.
Your mini rant on here serves no purpose other than for you to let off steam.

I at least offered a simple solution.

my complaint is that the average price of this product is approx €30-40 but dell have just added €100 to their own website price and were not even giving me the product i asked for! i am not Dell bashing as they have great deals and great products but i just cant help wondering who is pocketing that extra €100 i was asked for???
