Post Broadband speed & best config

Hi all,

I have 6MB NTL broadband and I have tested the speed directly connected to the router and I have 5,98. I also have a NETGEAR wireless router plugged in and when I tested wired I got more or less the same speed but when I connect vwireless my speed goes down to 3,8. Do you think I must configure someting on my PC?
My ip setting are setup for static. I have forward the http ports on the router and on my firewall (even if the tests are the same with firewall of).

Wht you advice?
Regards,

Wireless can be a little shaky at times - are there any other wireless networks around you that are operating on the same wireless channel? This can often have a negative impact on speed.
