If it is a "vauxall", I wouldnt buy it as it is likely to be an English import and as a rule of thumb I wouldnt buy an English import due to the fact that they "Salt" the Motorways and it corrodes the underbody of the car...

An Opel Tigra (i.e. an Irish Tigra) might be slightly better.

Personally though... Always hated the look of the Tigra... tried too hard to look like a sports car and it looks very girly.

Also, heard from a few people back when the 323f was released that it was a very very quick car.

I would imagine that its easier to get parts for the Mazda too.

Does that mean that the Opels have undergone a treatment different to the Vauxhall cars? Do most modern cars not come with an anti-corrosion warranty anyway?

In any case I apologise for not answering the first question.
My OPinion is that the 323f is a nicer looking car but then I am double your age so that probably makes my choice not so "Cool".

Hi Matalosse, I could be wrnong, but Vauxhalls are the English versions of Opels... you Cant buy an opel in England... afaik.... so all I am saying is that if it is a vauxhall, there is a good chance it has been exposed to very salty roads....

True enough, most new cars are under Anti-Corrison warrantys, but I dont think that a warranty would be effective on a 1997 car (I think they are 5 year warrantys)... and by the "Salty" road argument the English Vauxhall would be exposed to more potential damage than the Irish Opel version of the same car and year... of course the vaxhaul might have been imported as a new car to Ireland in 1997 and not been exposed to any Salty roads.

If you realy really love the Tigra (I dont), buy an Irish Opel Tigra, not an English Vauxhall version...

Personally, would prefer the 323f.

The 323F is a much better car than the Tigra!
mazda engines are some of the worlds most reliable opel are getting better all the time but a 97 opel engine wud defo be worse off in general than any Japanese made car!
tha 97 model of 323F was the best looking of the different body variants produced, again in my opinion...
on the other hand if you are a Hairdresser go for the Tigra it is a "cute" car!
Either way do check it out inside and out; bring a mechanic if you are not clue'd up yourself. and heed the prvious warning about the difference between an opel and a vauxhall that Poster is right about the salt!!!
