Yep, I'm with UTV and I just realised a couple of minutes ago that I've been upgraded from 2mb to 3mb. Good stuff. Now I wish I had 6mb

My eircom appears to have been upgraded from 2Mb to 3Mb. About two weeks ago.
The actual readings went from 1.75Mb to 2.56Mb. Good enough though.

Yes, I am with BT and it was upgrades to 3MB download and 384 upload. Achieving 2.6MB and 309 upload.

Have been informed that I can upgrade to 24 MB as they have switched my exchange.

Do not know if one would be able to achieve this on copper wires.

I e-mailed the Eircom press office mid July asking when the Ballybofey exchange would be upgraded for ADSL2+ (my work connection is Eircom Business Plus) and got a reply a few days later saying 2-3 weeks. So far there is no sign of the upgrade. Worse still, the downlink gets pretty bad in the afternoon, e.g. the speed test here always gives 3.4Mbps in the morning, but sometimes <500kbps around 3pm to 5pm.

I've been upgraded from BT 3Mbps to the so called 7.6Mbps package. However, my modem only syncs at 6Mbps max.

I suspect the upgrade is not a true 'as fast as the line can handle' upto 7.6Mbps.

I think that if you can't get 7.6 then you are downgraded to the next lowest stable standard Eircom package i.e. 6 or 5 or 4 or 3Mbps.

If I'm wrong there will be people out there who are not getting the 7.6 and syncing at speeds other than the ones I've mentioned. If anyone is syncing at intermediate speeds please post the details here.

Syncing at full speed, but hardly getting it. Nobody is. It's a shambles.

Interleaving is off the scale, and until Eircom are finished with the upgrades throughout, there's no chance of being put on Fastpath or a lower Interleaving setting (like before). This is why ping times have substantially increased.

i had a 3mb broadband package from imagine and my upload speed got an increase and my download speed got nothing. all i got was better upload speed and some serious ping issues aswell as terrible downloads.
i just ran a speed test there on 3mb broadband

Download speed 1388 Kbps (socket test)
Upload speed 504 Kbps (socket test)
Quality of service 57 %
Maximum delay 346 ms
Round trip time 48 ms
Upstream jitter 1.1 ms
Upstream packet loss 0 %
Upstream packet order 100 %
Upstream discards 0 %

i just emailed them too. i know it wont do any good but at leased someone will read it and have to reply to me telling me that my router must be broken or my pc has messed up network drivers, yea thats what they said last time. "we believe the problem is with your network drivers and we recommend you reinstall windows" that was until i said i get the same problems with my ps3 to which they replied " we reccomend you buy a new router as we dont offer support for the 1 you have"
