Default Carlow Town, question about I-net connection

Hi

I am about to move to Carlow Town from Poland. I am archaeologist, starting work on one sites nearby Carlow. I will stay in Carlow aproximately till end of june, so I need an internet connection just for 4 months.

For last few days I have been searching for quite cheap ISP available in this town, but so far I haven't found any. There is only radio lan (as far as i understand), where a special antene needs to be mounted on the chimney,
and the costs of instalation are usually about 100 euro. It is ok, but I need it just for 4 months. The other ISP has no instalation fees, but I must sign up for a whole year. Moreover I am not sure about landlord, if he or she is willing to mount an antene on the roof or chimney - I will be renting a room only.

I need moderate speed - 256kbps for instant messaging, voip, surfing thew web or listening radio stations via net and updating some webservices via ftp.

I have wireless lan card onboard my notebook so I have been looking for a wi-fi provider.
The only hotspot I have found is located in shopingcentre and I don't know if it is free or not.

The other question is GPRS priovided by mobile telecoms. Due to I am away over a 5 or 6 months, appart lan at home I have a GPRS card in my notebook. THis connection is not so good, but sometimes is only alternative (during excavations in the deep forest) and it is quite cheap (15 euro/month) Is there similar GPRS serivice provided by any Irish mobile telecom?

Sorry for my poor English, an if I made any offtopic. I hope that my question fits this forum ok.

Best Regards
Krystian Kozerawski

Not yet, and I don't know in which part of the town I will "land"
I have found some adverts on Daft.ie and e-mailed ppl who have rooms for rent, but I haven't got any answer yet.
I have a flight to Dublin on this thursday, and I will arivie to Carlow about saturday or sunday, so I have about 4 - 5 days to deal with it.
