Default VoIP on IBB

Hi I'm interested in setting up VoIP on my 3Mb connection. Over the course of yesterday I ran Blueface's network test several times as a test. The results show high packet loss at peak times (see below). Is this a problem with IBB's network and if so what are the chances of it being resolved?

Does anyone here use VoIP with IBB successfully?

The machine the test was run on is directly connected to the radio unit.

Thanks.

That'd be slightly inaccurate. I'm assuming that the blueface network tester uses ICMP (standard ping command) to test for packet loss...

Our highsites under heavy load do disregard ICMP packets so anything trying to test for packet loss during these conditions would report it, but the ICMP packets themself are dropped on purpose, no other type of network traffic is touched.

Hope this clears things up... if you like contact our Customer Service Technical Support department and I'm sure someone could look into it for you.

We do however offer our own talk service with quite discounted rates, you might wanna ask about that when you're on the line too.

Default IBB Maynooth Problems

Well IBB are having huge problems in Maynooth at the moment. Support has been useless and won't say what the problem is so hopefully someone here can shed light on the situation.

My pings are up around 500ms.
Download and upload are around 512kbps on a 2Mbps connection.

That would definitely make VOIP unusable if it was happening in other areas too.

512kbps is fine for VOIP tho... however the latency would make it unusuable.
