Thumbs down Irish Broadband

I have 3meg breeze with IBB at the moment and first chance I get there gone. I'm going on to smart , I recommended IBB first I thouht they were great and everybody who got it have all gone to other companies because there ****. I seen what smart were giving for the same money through the phone-line I know it cost me money to get it fitted but at least I was not throwing it away like I was with IBB. No limits and no caps what a load of bollox.. Never again would I even say a good word about them.

i would imagine that you're sitting in a Carlow area or you're on their Rosmore High Tower... i'm in Carlow and had IBB for a good 2 years now and could never complain.. but in the last 2 months they seem to have some kind of problem with the rosemore highsite and everyone connected to it is affected.. speeds are SLOW connection is unstable.. they are saying they are trying to locate the interference that is causing this and they will somehow compensate those that were effected... i don't know when that will happen though cuz personally 2 months is a long time.. I am a wow player and i can't even do that cuz of the connection stability... there is a new thing going around about Vodafone giving you a landline + DSL for the exact same price.. you can get 3mb for 49 euro or you could get 7.6mb for 59 euro... but the deal is they have 30GB Download and unlimited upload.. don't know if this is of any help but i am very disappointed in them at the moment as well....

I am up in Dublin and was a customer of IBB for many years but recently they have been killing them selfs by messing around with the connection so it was time to move on and looking what my brother who was also a IBB customer for many years he moved on to smart telecom and so far its been a great move. I would reccommend them .

ah, so it's not only rosemore that's acting up.. Dublin is bad as well... hmmm that gets me thinking... but i really like the no cap idea.. i do go trough alot of traffic a month... i don't know if 30gb is good enough cuz ya see all the new releases are all huge.. like 6gb+ so i don't know what can you suggest? anything out there that has no limit? and reliable?

Default Disconnected

I have a Vodafone modem and in the mornings I get near to 1 meg and this gets worse as the day goes by. Last night I was getting about 16k I also get disconnected all the time and cant get logged on to the server. I get massages that the server does not exist, when I ping a server I get over 2000ms response. I have a HSDPA signal with 4 bars on it. Vodaphone have told me that it is probably people using their 3G phones that block the signal.

the bad thing about all of this is that there is no other offers in Carlow....from the stuff that's available IBB is the only "normal" one..i mean getting eircom would be suicide... digiweb is c**p and all the DSL options are generaly wors then wors so i am lost

Default it time to make a stand

I think we have been letting these companies rip us off for years, its time to stop them. there taking our money and not supplying the service.
I'm with smart so far am very happy with them so lets hope they keep it up.
I won't name the companies but I think they know who they are and they would want to get there act together. there making millions each years but not putting it back thats why the broadband in this country is a joke compared to other countries were looking like a joke to them.
they know it ,thats why they have there staff coming on these sites telling us were wrong. if they spent more time listening to the people who use them maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

I am in Broadway and the nearest arial is in Rosslare so I am about 3kilometers away. I sometime live in Belgium out in the sticks and we have had high speed broadband for 10 years or more, using an ADSL line. At first it was connected via the USB but over the past 5 years we have had a wireless router and this is realy fast I checked it a couple weeks ago and I was getting over 3meg download with about 600kb upload. Thats using the Blacknight speed check. I dowloaded a couple of films from Sky which took a couple of hours while I was working on the PC. I tried to download a film here and it took 24 hours with several breaks in the connection. Were I have to turn off the modem and reconnect.

Default just as I said

for many years now they have been getting away with. Some of the broadband companies are only interested in profit , they dont care about there customers if they did they wouldn't be providing such a crappy service. If you notice a problem contact them and dont let it drop till your happy, you paying for it so why not get the full amount .

Thumbs down Ibb

I know IBB say that they are unlimited but I think there telling a porky. if there was no caps on there broadband why are they always slowing connections down blaming people on downloading to much its nothing to do with that. There trying to get as many people and there money conected but just dont want to put any money back into there broadband unless they have to so the easy way to do it is slow everybody down and blame everybody else so if it was unlimited they wouldn't be doing this.
I don't care any more there gone and not missed so I would keep an eye on them
