Default IBB is going to get a "real world" review from the press

Hello fellow disgruntled IBB customers...Just to let ye all know that a national newspaper is currently investigating IBB and is going to do an article on them. I will be talking to the journalist and plan make them aware of this forum and www.boards.ie. The greater public needs to be made aware of the false advertising and blatent rip off that this cowboy company is commiting here in Ireland. THEN we will see how irishbroadband react!! Power to the people!

Thumbs up about time

At last a chance to see if Joe Public has a voice against the large rip off company. I still amazes me that they are even still allowed to trade.

I really hope this may spell the end of the lies and money grabbing.

Thumbs down another bill

I just got off the phone to the again.

They sent another Bill. When I rang Threy said "you still have the modem". I pointed out that they were supposed to take it back in DEC.

When he tried to put me on hold I told him that i will NOT spend another 40 mins on hold and they can ring me. Lets see what happens now. NOTHING!.

The direct debit has been gone since DEC.

Pure ingnorance.

Default They are rubbish

I was with IBB for about 10 months and changed to NTL, much better. I still owed them about 350euro but told them to F%$£ Off. Their service was supposed to be 2mb but I was gettin speeds of about 100-200k a lot of the time. I told them I had a log of all theses speeds and the customer service was rubbish. They closed my account and didnt chsrge me the rest. Thanks to Irishisp test for the log of my speeds. I would advise anyopne to just tell them to bugger off and you might be as lucky as me. I hope the truth comes out. What newspaper??

Ok after talking to the journalist today i can inform all that the Examiner is looking into the whole IBB issue and other broadband companies. I am acting as a go between for the journalist. We have setup an email to handle all complaints. Please include your name, address, telephone number and complaint to the following email address....

broadbandcomplaints@yahoo.co.uk

Any emails sent will be held in confidence and will not be passed to third parties without the express permission of the sender. Please send your mails asap as they are planning to look at this next week. Finally we all will have a voice!!!!

Thanks blacknight I spoke to the journalist just a few mins ago and they are going to try get an examiner.ie email account setup incase people think that this is some sort of scam like they do over on boards.ie. the journalist is not in the technical department and knows very little about the broadband subject and will be relying on me to put most of the terms in lay speak. I was surprised that not 1 email was sent so far today. If this was happening in France the people would be on the streets demanding justice. Its typical of the Irish. Whinge and moan but avoid confrontation at all costs...(Sorry for the negativity but IBB have me wound up enough without people not doing anything to stop them)

once you have an examiner.ie email address i will gladly post all of my details but i am not suprised that noone has posted their private details eg address and tel number to what is effectively an untraceable email address.

dont get me wrong, i think what you have organised here is excellent and i am also hoping like you that this will shake them up enough to sort out the mess they call customer service and support.

Just recieved that link in a pm on a different board. Have forwarded it on. The press is great for getting politicians to do something. They are always looking in the press to find issues to boost the politcal profile...Things are happening people!
