Default Sloooowband

I'm on 512 u/d and it's as slow as 10kbs at times
I rang customer service several times and no joy
contention of 20:1 to them means 512k divided by 20 = 64k thats all they are required to give

I sent them 2 e-mails telling them they where to slowest and got no reply
what a shower...........can't wait for my contract to expire in may

Default The contention ratio really does slow things down

Yep it totally agree with the Slooowband comment for IBB. I have the very same problem with the speed. I have rang customer service and have had a very indepth (1 Hour) conversation about the speed. I must admit that i thought the reason for my slow speed was because of my location and poor signal strength quality. I can only get connection at the very highest point in my house at one location ---- so much for wireless then... Now on the face of it IBB offer a very competive product at a great price but when it comes down to it the contention ratio really messes up the performance and it is really not much different than Dial Up !!! THE SEARCH FOR PROPER SPEED CONTINUES ...

One company Magnet offers a fibre optic service for 29.99 with 2Mb/sec speeds and with no contention at all ... I want this now !!! Sadly i think they have only set up in one new housing estate so far ... All them lucky people in The Grange ... anyway this one looks promising ... so when they come my way it'll be goodbye IBB

Default IBB

I got to this site looking for netspeed tests, then started to look at forums just to compair what kind of differance to ISP services from uk to Ireland.

looking at your IBB problems with net ratio slowdown reminds me when i used BT broadband 50 - 1 ratio madness never got what i was expecting from there services.

I would like to say if u can swap from DSL - ADSL- RADSL to Cable.
if you can no ratio. my net loss is as follows

Downstream 4096 Kpbs or 3.8 Mbps 8)
Upstreaam 384 Kbps

at any time of the day i lose no more than 10% of my connect...

Moral of the story ADSL for home users Suck... don't pay a penny for these services

Default IBB

I've had endless trouble with IBB. For the last 3 months plus I'd been emailing them as I had no joy in getting someone by phone just to simply change my direct debit details. Finally 3 months later somebody sent me a new direct debit form by email. At that stage there was no way I was filling it out. They'd been taking direct debits from an account I no longer used leaving me with 4 months of irregular DD fees from the bank. I'm simply refusing to pay them until somebody calls me. What a shower of w#%nk*rs they are. I don't no how they're still in business. I'm seriously thinking of climbing up on my roof, pulling the antenna down and ramming it up their Managing directors hole. I work in sales and I know there's no way my customers would let me away with the sort of crap that IBB are getting away with.

Is there something that can be legally be done about them????
