inept installation team

After 6 weeks of 10-50% packet loss, I just found out why. The initial installation team had me connected to the guinness high point, but the dish was pointing in the other direction. It seems that the signal I had was a reflection off a local church!!

So after 3 call outs (and 3 vacation days lost), I finally have 980 kps up/down speeds with 0% packet loss.

Oh, and the team who was meant to install the dish the first time around never showed up.

Moral of the story: Make sure your installation team have good knowledge of dublin geography, and make sure they have a compass!
