Default Calling Ripwave customers. Are you paying €18.95 monthly?

You have all seen the IBB 'Traffic Warden' ad in the national newspapers, advertising IBB for €18.95 per month? A few weeks ago I mailed IBB and asked would existing Ripwave customers be getting their monthly price reduced to €18.95 to ensure all their customers were paying the same price for the same service. Surprise surprise, they have not replied to me. Back in May we got a reduction from €29.99 to €24.95 because they reduced the price to lure in new customers. My biggest problem is that we existing customers will have to put up with a further inferior product by virtue of more users but will be paying €6 extra than them for the privilige. Maybe if a few more of us mailed them they might change their minds. I am also going to complain to the Advertising Standards Authority because as long as we are paying €24.99 they cannot publish advertisements saying that it costs €18.95. There is also a person on Boards.ie collating a file of complaints against IBB and is going to present them to Comreg.

If you are paying IBB by Credit Card and want to get out of your agreement because they have not delivered, just cancel the credit card and get a different one. I would love to see them try to prosecute a customer for breach of contract!!

Default Indo Mag today...

..carried the ad. It's been in the papers a couple of weeks now. Picture of a traffic warden sitting looking dejected (must be an IBB customer) on the kerb twiddling his pen. The caption says 'Some things don't work without lines, but our Broadband does', it goes on about not needing a phone line and it says Broadband in a box for only €18.95 a month. Plus if you go on to their site and click on Ripoff, sorry Ripwave, it clarly states €18.95 a month rental. Free installation if you apply before end of Sept (this will change to free installation before end of October during the week and so on. I am happy with Ripwave but not now knowing that other people are paying approx 25% less than me.

Default Reduction Imminent!

I actually got a reply and we will be notified with our next bill that the cost is being reduced to €18.95 which is good value if your Ripwave is working correctly as mine is. So from October 1st we pay €18.95.
