The IBB Contract (Re-Post) For all those moaning about the bad speeds etc from IBB.
Many of you have a contract that says you will stay with them for 1 year etc, and feel now that you are trapped.
Well you dont have to.
Bear in mind a contract works both ways, it insures that both parties know what they are giving and getting.
In the case of IBB, they do not provide service that you are paying for in that contract.
They are in fact in breach of contract with you.
The law states that you must exhaust alll forms of complaint before you can cancel a contract.
Ring them.. I know it takes forty mins etc, but it's a first step.
keep a copy of the phone bill.
Take screenshoots of your speed tests and email them to IBB.
Keep a copy of all screenshots and emails.
Complain to Comreg.
If they still Ignore you.
Tell them (not ask) to uninstall you in writing or email.
Call your bank and cancel the payments.
They will still send you invoices, ignore them
They will have no choice but to come and take the ariel etc.
Dont worry about legal action from them.
I have consulted a few legal people and they have all told me that if IBB even tried to take you to court they would lose in a heartbeat.
Just print out this forum for a start. lets see a Judge's reaction to that!
They know this too.
I know a lot of you have no other means of internet, but hang tight.
In three months Eirecom have to hand over all the lines to outside companys, and we should see better third party offers begin.
In a lot of cases (Like mine) my line was enabeld and I didnt't know.
Give Eircom a ring and check today, the line may have been upgraded since last you checked.
