Question Hi, just asking about 3

I am in Tullamore,Offaly.I have a 3 data card HSDPA. The speeds are crazy 69kbps average sometimes 1kbps, what happened to 3.6 Mbps or even 1 Mbps. They offer 10Gig ! I would never be able to achieve this if it was on all month. Anyone got any Ideas. Thanks

I'm in cork with full HSDPA coverage...same problem i only ever get a tiny fraction of the 3.6mbs advertised..What an excuse..that they are upgrading their network. Do you think that they would roll out a major advertising campaign just before they upgrade their network. I was told the same thing 2 weeks ago, but that it would be fixed last week...guess what...its still the same.
If you want to complain to some don't complain to 3 they have your dough and its contracted. Complain to the advertising standards or to comreg..after all it was misleading advertising that got us here, there is more chance of this of watchdog type body correcting the situation than you or i listing to sorry excuses from a scripted phone agent. Also see show me where to complain about 3

just download forms for the small claims court as they cannot charge €130 for a modem you cant use or €20 a month for service they cant supply! also their contention is the highest allowed at 48:1 meaning an even worse experience

Its not that the modem doesn't work, its that the service doesn't work...you will have purchased the modem but you are being billed for the service that is not as advertised. Just contact your bank manager and tell them to cancel the direct debit. Then three have to prove to you that you are getting the service they advertised...and the have already told most of us that their service is not up to speed for one reason or another thereby admitting that they are not upholding their side of the contract. Therefor you have every right not to pay them while they admit defaulting on their side of the agreement. Just call your bank. Tell them to cancel the direct debit. You purchased the modem, (card or usb) its yours...you could then see with O2 or Vodafone if they have 3G or HSDPA coverage in your area, and purchase a sim card for the service from one of these. Drop it in your 3 card or usb modem and get connected again..
You should still complain to the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland - The Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland :: Welcome or to Comreg (Commission for Communications Regulation) Commission for Communications Regulation - ComReg and let them know what is going on..

if only life was so easy!! the modem remains the property of 3 and remains locked to their services so you cant use o2 or vodafone sim with it! and you may cancel the direct debit but this will be re-activated as you are still contractually obliged untill such time as 3irl release you from your contract with them!
who is the bank going to listen to? you or a company worth millions???

I guess this depends on who three banks their money with...who do think my bank will side with if 3 dont bank with them.(BTW do you work for 3?)...also I already have seen a 3 usb modem working on the vodafone network.

Your right this is getting like rubbish, however we all know that 3s advertised "blistering" speeds of up to 3.6mbs service is at best highly misrepresented. The question is for those already subscribed and who have been led down the flowery path of being told that the service will improve is what to do about it, I was trying to show some people that just because they are in a contract that it does not mean that they have signed their rights away. Perhaps this is a topic that should have a thread of its own..

its true that while 3irl have not and probably never will reach their advertised speeds their customers have several options one of the weaker ones being to try cancelling their derect debit while still contrated to 3 and to let their bank officials fight the case for them. the proper way to go would be spending €9 on a small claims court application which will reach a just end without risking being listed in stubb's gazette or lowering your credit rating!!

Well over the last few days i have noticed an improvement in 3's bandwidth, now i am getting between 40k and 100k down day and night and more around 100k at night, so fair dues are owed to 3, now i have a service clearly better than dial up. However even with full HSDPA coverage this is still well short of the max 3.6mbs. Would any 3 employees care to comment...

I may have spoken too soon...all day i can not send mail using outlook via SMPT...called the cc line, all they know is that it is probably related to the ongoing upgrade and that i am not the only one experiencing this problem...apparently it should be right tomorrow...Oh as well..speeds have just dropped to the floor like before...

I got the 3 modem and returned it after 3 days. They said to keep it until they had updated the network but I told them that I would get a modem when they had finally finished. I don't want to pay for a contract of 12 months when I get 12kbps!

Angry 3 Network

Hi I also have the 3 network and find it very slow. Last weekend I called them because I could not even log on to the internet... I was also told that they are updating due to the hight demand from new customers in Ireland... Yes it has become a littler faster but the speed just drops to nothing then goes higher again. I'm in Palatine Carlow and I have even sat in the car so my husband could drive me around till i got the full five bars and it's still really slow.. I wanted to down load a patch the other day and it was going to take 3 hours so i downloaded it at work withing 3 minutes... So 3 network is pants... So I'm not a happy customer... does anyone else have any idea's ?? maybe a new network provider that is fast in ireland?

Hmm, question: why do you have to PAY for a physical object that doesn't belong to you then? Seems to me someone with the financial clout should take these clowns to court and get them running.
