Default New to the forums ... semi long time user...

Well some of ye may know me from Boards.ie / IrishWebmasters forum or someplace else ...

I've just moved up to dublin (well 6 weeks ago) and moved my NTL from galway over to dublin. Was told various things like I'll be on the 6mb (I've 3 and its more than enough) ... got upgraded to 6 eventually a week and a half ago only to find out ... its now up to 10 ... ARGH!

So far its mixed for me .. very fast ... ... not so fast ... seems to go to 6mb every so often so maybe thats just contention or whatever.

I'm also with O2 for mobile broadband as I'm up and down to galway a bit and it works quite well apart from annoying drop outs every so often

James

I've no QoS stuff installed (router or other configuration)

The quality / speed is not that bad .... I've noticed it being slow at times ... and I'm not sure why exactly.

Its also varying on the download speed quite a bit .. from maybe 1Mb/s to 6Mb/s ...

I've gotten speeds of 860kB/s that've been quite happy with ... I'm not downloading anything really so can't really say just how good it all is.

If it's working well for you .....

What some people have reported was more related to odd routing ie. packets of data being sent all over Europe

And its just been dead completely dead for 10 - 20 minutes

Great for my VOIP line

Hmmm I've not actually checked out where my packets are all going ... I know before that their routing was going through the netherlands no idea if they've changed that policy though.
