hi all.iam quite new to this bullitin board stuff,posting threads and all that.like others ive read came across this site by chance looking for a bb speed test.well i got it 75%.and i am using guess who, irish broad band, i gather the are not to popular around here.anyways i will visit again and hope i can add or help

Welcome aboard cinimod! You seem a little surprised that IBB are not that popular! What's your experiance? How did they fair out on the speedtest? Positive feedback is welcome too (if that's possible!)

thanks gordy.my download speed averages 607 Kbps,thats Qos 85%,its not a bad as some ive heard .but a pity it does not reflect in the monthly invoice.i reformated hd other night and put a clean install xp pro and some software it was then i 1st looked for sp.test.it was 750kbps.since more software installed it seems to have slowed.i wonder could this be the case with other

You may want to put some kind of software firewall on your pc so that you can see exactly which software is trying to make connections etc.,

ye si am using zone alarm.but it seems that every program small or large wants to make its own connection,no end to it shur theres not

Try Kerio personal firewall,no problems it will alert you and ask permisssion for any outgoing connections and incoming.
