I am from the Uk orginally but now living in ireland. Broadband in the Uk is a good bit more advanced than here but they still have their problems. The main problem in the UK is that unless your living right next to an exchange and on new lines then your not going to get more than 2-3MB. But the choice and speed is there, Check out these prices from www.ukonline.net

1MB = 9.99
2MB = 14.99
8MB = 24.99
22MB = 29.99

That may be true if you are wanting to look at ADSL but don't forget large parts of the country get served by cable as I do.

If I go ADSL the BT line tester says I can get up to 6meg service. I have been on NTL cable since 2001 or so.

Started at 512k then 1meg, then 2meg, 3meg and now 10 meg. In five years I have had 4 days of down time when lightning struck the class 5 switch out in the street.

Have a look here www.adslguide.org.uk
