Actually based in the uk but find this one of the best speed test.

Just upgraded to bethere broadband these are my speed test results.

Just curious to know how they compare as I am not getting the full 24mb.

24mb broadband, they have a fair usage policy, but they are pretty good, pretty much unlimited downloads within reason.

Cheaper than the 8mb adsl max I had before and 5 times the speed upload and 4 times the speed download.

I'd note most 24mbit services are sold with a maximum speed of 24mbit. Most copper lines can't get that speed. I believe you might have to be within 1 or 1.5km of the exchange to get anymore than 10mbit.

Still seeing 12mbit/s on DSL is pretty damned good

I live very close to my exchange, the cable length from me to the exchange is between 850 and 1000 metres, not bad if I say so myself.

Very happy with my speeds but not sure what anyone would have to do to get more, as you said copper only carrys signals so fast.

I checked out that link also, and my download speed appeared to stabilise at 2004 KB/sec.

oh well... go figure I guess...
