Talking Magnet And Switching Over!!

I switched to Magnet in November.......few early problems but wen i eventually got a magnet engineer out he said that the way an eircom engineer had installed my connection point was wrong......considering it was only for broadband n phone.....so dat was fixed. MY upload never goes below 1000kbps (shud b 512kpbs) and now i regularly manage to get between 4100kbps up to an unbleievable (considering its a 4000kbps service) 5300kbps and dats not too rare either. Service is great and havnt had any problems since the engineer fixed my wiring problem......ONLY WORKS IF U DONT HAVE ANYTHING CONNECTED OTHER THAN THE MAGNET MODEM ie monitored alarms...quite happy but dont know bout the full package TV-PHONE-BROADBAND....bit pricey?? Any1 dat has tripleplay let me know how ur gettin on!!

talaman - I've just switched to Magnet triple play from eircom.
Its been a long process to get all the services up and running (no thanks to eircom) but I have to admit Magnet sales, provisioning and support teams have been excellent.

8meg down and over 1meg up is excellent - I downloaded a full Linux distro DVD (4Gb) in about two hrs the speed ramind constatnt during the download.

Phone works fine despite having to use a A/D converter box

The jury is still out on the TV - the channel lineup is bit basic and the quality can vary as there can be some time lag between voice and picture and slight intermittent pixelation especially on fast moving images.

I havent been billed yet so I dont know how that end of the business will work out.

I'll keep you posted
