Default Super Nova

Hi All,

I just want to say that although I was having connection problems, I contacted Dave Nova and my problem seems to be resolved.

Naturally I will monitor the situation - but if it stays this good then I'm happy.

Wouldn't it be great if we could get good service like this in everything..!?

Pablo

Thumbs up I have had good service from Nova

I have been signed up with Nova since February this year and I have had good service from Dave and his team.

There were two configuration issues (one at installation, and one more recently when new equipment was installed in the network), On both occasions Dave and his staff dealt with the issues in a quick and friendly fashion.
Apart from about two other general network outages for short periods, I have found the Nova QoS and speed to be good and reliable.

Not at all disputing that other users may have had worse problems, just offering my experience.

Cheers

Mike

I just got a Nova connection the other day, I'm happy enough with it so far, the speeds are very good. The only problem I'm having with it is it's latency for gaming, which no matter what seems to be up around 120-180. Hopefully it'll be sorted out soon enough though, because someone else I know(real life know) only has good words to say about them.

Cheers Spud. My brothers really into it, I'll pass on the info to him. I'll probably end up giving it a go, but I'll have to use the family computer, as BF2 doesn't support my laptop's widescreen.

Don't go near Nova Networks if your connection is important, they have no support on the weekends.

This is my second weekend in a row where I haven't had a connection, both times the connection dropped just after office hours on the Friday.

I have to say in the past few weeks my connection has been superb. One blip and it was sorted within twenty four hours. All my speeds are better than they have ever been.

Default Techs on at the weekend

Unfortunately due to a failure of equipment, about one-third of our customers in one town have been affected by intermittent problems. BUT we are working on it today (Sunday) so we DO support our users on the weekends! We have an on-call on duty 24/7/365.

Also as regard ping times, it depends on the server location. We have pings of about 18ms to INEX from our upstream edge, plus whatever it takes through our network to your place. International servers are going to be subject to whatever peering is in place though.

In fairness, the ping times have gotten much better over the past month, since I joined. But this is the second weekend in a row that I don't have a connection, and each time I wasn't told anything over the entire weekend. E-mails haven't been answered and I've left two messages on the answering machine. In these modern days you don't have to be near the office to answer either of them.

I can understand that people go through bad patches. Maybe I have just been unlucky with when I signed up. But the first weekend of outage was avoidable, and I know nothing about this weekend. It's the being in the dark that annoys me the most.

Buceph,

Please see PM regarding this. Problem in Carrigaline now fixed - all back to normal. Your messages have not fallen on deaf ears.

Regards,

Dave

Default You can't please everyone!

Hi Tony,

Are you also recommending that people order from TWO PROVIDERS at the same time like you did (signing legal contracts with both)?

Tony, you may remember that we turned up and installed ours first, then when the other provider came out, you got them to cut our cable. After that, when you were unhappy with them, you asked that we reconnect ours, which we did AT OUR COST. Then you were also unhappy with that and broke your legally signed contract having downloaded hundreds of GBs and costing us far more than your subscription in bandwidth.

And please, there is no need to get personal about my staff, who took at least 30 phone calls from you in a civil manner. And as for trying to contact me, we had numerous phone calls and many PMs - I did my best to keep you happy.

So all the best with your future provider(s).

All the best,

Dave

At your cost LOL you charged my 50 euro to reconnet that time it seemes you cant rember your own backhanders so please dont BS and of course i got another provider as all i got from ye was oh we cant fix it and no further info pure amatures & if i did dl lots of gigs so what? when i signed up YOUR website said that the package i got had NO caps, but you werent long changeing that at least when ibb say no caps they mean it in fact you could say that when i looked at your web page it was false advertising i would NOT have signed up if i had seen a cap limit as i dont go for caps, the truth of the matter is you did NOT want me a client as i dl a lot so ye came up with that lame excuse what did ye expect me to do have no connection over your contract?? if ye did the job right i would not have signed up to 2 providers i would have just stayed with ye ,my advice remains the same RUN a mile from nova.At the end of the day all you care about is $ and you did NOT treat me right you got a install fee from me for 2 months service which should be refunded as ye did not keep up YOUR side of the contract and the fact that your "property" is still on my roof proves that ye are a not so good isp, thanks for the "So all the best with your future provider(s)" but ive a good one that KEEP to what the advertise on their web site so you can drop that (s)

well spud im easy to please just give what your website advertises not that hard is it? but the way dave came on saying "AT OUR COST" was clearly UNTRUE & proves that all he REALLY cares about is $ and not how happy his customers are

I'm having problems with Nova Networks again. I haven't been able to connect since yesterday. The last time I know it was working was yesterday morning. I'm getting a could not connect to server error, whatever that means.

So far, Nova Networks have been dissapointing. Whenever I ring them, all they say is "someone is working on it." As was said in a previous post, when the connection is working, it's fantastic, when the connection isn't working...

I called Nova yesterday to enquire about availability in my area of Cork City. The lady I talked to said she would call me back. Never did!
I've been having a nightmare trying to get BB for the last 4 weeks. I'm disgusted with Eircom, their sales service is dreadful, they never do anything that they say they will, never call back and give me a different story every time. I expected better from a local service than "We'll call you back" and then not bothering. Why should I chase after companies to sell me something?
I signed up for Chorus today. There was a slight problem determining if I could get service. The lady said she'd call me back and guess what, she actually did 20 minutes later!! This is unparalelled service (it's sad to say). She is the first sales person I have talked to over the last 4 weeks who has shown the slightest interest in selling me a service.
What is going on with the other ISPs?

PS. I take it all back (except the stuff about Eircom). 30 mins after posting this I got a call from Nova (conspiracy theorists take note ) explaining the delay in getting back to me. Thanks Nova N., at least you show interest in customers.
