Default Great service !

Hi,

This is my first post and it's also the first post/topic in NTL ....

But I'd just like to say that NTL are number one for me, I have BB with them nearly 2 years I think and they a very cheap. I got a 2nd BB connection in today for the sister in her room, first three months free and free connection, I don't think that can be beaten ?

2000Kbps for both lines

Well NTL told me that the update isn't 100% untill the 1st of June.

I'm just lucky I got it 2 weeks early I suppose.

I know theres only a few days until June 1st ...should have the 2MB line then.... just annoying that it was 2MB when it was installed and then a few days later down to 750k. actually its around 700k at the mo.
I'll just have to be patient I suppose!

I originally had the 750 too but since about a week or so I have the 2MB, I actually didn't know I had it until I rang them to put the second BB line in.

Maybe you did have the 2MB for a day or so, but they are still testing on your line. But you should be ok on the 1st.

Reboot your modem (power it down and up again). That should do it. :P

3MB is possible, with the premium service;

http://www.ntl.com/locales/ie/en/ath...net_cable.html.

I'm still on ca 700kb, should have 2MB... they say there is a problem with the cables in the house. They're gonna check it out

Why didn't you just use a wireless router (or even a wired router) and split your existing BB connection between you and your sister? You're paying twice when you don't need to.....

Default NTL

 Got NTL BB in about 2 years ago was paying 35 for 512k then a free upgrade to 750k. Then I decided to go Premium and was paying 50 for 1.5mbs but now since 1st of June upgraded to 3mbs and only pay 45. Great service since I got it , just a few start up problems but was sorted quickly. All my mates who live outside NTL areas are sOOOOOOO jealous of this service.

Well for me they're cheap. I could be totally wrong but I think they're the cheapest ?

There service is very good, when they say they'll be at your house at a time they're there, 20 mins later they've done their job and they're gone.

And when I mean very good, what I actually means they do their job to standard ie the way a business/service should be run, don't get me started on Eircom/n.

I'm a consumer like everyone else and I can't see any problems with NTL at all. I can't fault them at all.

What more do you want ?

Default NTL

We've had NTL BB since February, with 2 pc's and a laptop run through a router. Recently upgraded to 1mb for €25; free connection, and the first 3 months free. Certain other BB providers have the cheek to charge an installation fee for putting a modem in the post. Hmmm.
Their customer service is excellent. We had a few problems in the beginning with the (ancient) cabling in the house, and a faulty modem. Service calls were fine, with a reminder text message sent the day before.
The best thing about using cable BB is the possibility of ditching the land line altogether, and using VoiP. 8)
I shouldn't praise NTL too much, as I don't want the contention ratio to deteriorate if they become too successful.

Default NTL are ****e!!

I hope it was not me you are talking about Guest, Who said "A guy I
know who also lives in Tallaght told me he has 3 mega bit, I think he's
talking ****e, would I be right ?",. If it is me your talking about, just to let
you know, I don't talk ****e!.

Any ways, NTL are absolutely ****e, as soon as another BB Co. comes
into Ireland that does anything near my 3mg line I will be changing
the ping times to the server are crap, leaving me to not be able to have
a game most nights of the week. My Friend down the road also had a
3mg line and asked for it to be canceled yesterday. After I had been
on the phone to there Head over BB Joe something. He told me that
there was a problem in my area and that they are going to fix it, they
just don't know when.(I am now getting credit on my account from the
time I rang in first about the problem, until its fixed.)
Meanwhile, my friend, who lives three doors down from me is being told
NTL BB Support that there is no problems in his area, and that there is
nothing they are gonna do.

My friends who have not yet got BB. just be patient and wait. Soon
we will be able to order 8mg lines over our telephone cabling, and as
soon as they come, I will be telling NTL, to F#@K OFF!!!!!!!!
