Personally I don't have a problem with my internet even though it took them about a month to upgrade me from 3 meg to 10 but I have a friend also has 3 megs (not upgraded yet) he lives in the same part of dublin as me (tallaght) but his internet is very slow and on some occasions even browsing webpages is slow.

So from reading around the forum I came with the conclusion that if you're lucky you'll get a great internet service but if you're not ntl isn't going to fix it for you

if you look in to your modem 192.168.100.1 you would see under Operation Configuration :Network Access : Allowed
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000
Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 1600
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Modem Capability : Concatenation Enabled, Fragametation Enabled, PHS Disabled,,this is meaning you could go till 10mb but ntl cannot guarantee 6mb.I have after 6pm speeds under 1mb, so crazy.

yep that's what i see in my modem.
And I do get the full speed even after 6pm but not when i use only 1 connection (when i download only 1 file from a site). I managed to max my connection with 2 http downloads, and since I'm an addicted bittorrent user maxing out my connection isn't really a problem, the problem is that now i can go over 200GB/month way to easy and NTL might decide to cut me off.
