NTL query RE: Contention Ratio of 6Mbit broad band max offering and MMDS

FYI - Got this today from NTL via email... in fairness, it was a quick response (about 3 hours).


"The contention ratio is 17/1.

Unfortunately we do not provide the Service in an MMDS Area, it has to be a cable Area which has been up-graded for the Internet Connection".

How do we know that NTL is telling the truth. Is there any independent body to check these figures. Since begining of the October, speeds are down. I think they are getting new customers but not increasing their band width.
