O2 Broadband speeds

Hi, I live in Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, where there seems to be a problem with DSL download speeds on Eircom and BT. Upload speeds seem unaffected.

I can't get DSL at home, so I use O2, where upload speeds are better than download speeds!

Does anyone know if/where O2 and other mobile providers "hook" into the net- is it possible that my O2 problems are because of the general problems with the speed in Bailieborough. I understand that the nearest mast is between my home and the town, but is the o2 link wireless to (say) Dublin, or only to the nearest broadband exchange?

Obviously I know that the mast I can see isn't necessarily the one my Huawei connects to!

Any ideas anyone?
