I think you're winding us up about Groupnet Communications in Leitrim!!
128k down and 56k up doesn't qualify as broadband, that's only the same speed as ISDN. That's the worst wireless package I have ever heard. And it's very sneaky that it's not symmetrical, as it is not landline ADSL. Wireless broadband should be the same speed up and down.
Hi Paul,
No doubt to you it's not Broadband, but to me, unable to get broadband via telephone line as out in the country.
It's a darn site better than having the dial-up with all the disconnections [ usually when signed into something] the really slow loading I was having.
That was unless wanted to pay lot of money for Satellite!!!
I did also state that there was a faster speed for €40.
Anyway lot of people happy with it. http://www.irishisptest.com/forum/im...cons/icon7.gif

1 meg up and down quoted, but recently getting 2.4meg and and down.
Lovely people to deal with, but the service is prone to breakdown
€39 per month, it seems to be to be the only package at the moment.
Cathy,
I had to put up a 55ft tower to get broadband here, as I am in a rural area, more than 9KM away from the exchange. It cost quite a lot
Vodafone Data Connect 3G card (Huawei E620 Cardbus card), which I use as a static broadband access card on a gateway machine. Sometimes I take it out and about with my lappy and even use it the way it's meant to be used.
At the time of writing the d/l speed is max 384kbps, but this is set to rise to 1.2Mbps shortly with the advent of HSDPA and could reach 14Mbps over the next couple of years (theoretically).
I'm only 4 miles from the nearest BB-enabled town, but no chance of getting landline BB here; so I took a chance on this Vody card and it works! I use an MMDS dish and squirt the signal the 4 miles to the access point.
