Default Irish Broadband

Hi,

I'm currently 'enjoying" a download speed of 19.2 kbps and an upload speed of 4.2 kbps on a 2 Mb line.

This is from the Clonsilla site and these download speeds are almost a permenant feature of my reception over the last few months and this si supposed to have a contention ratio of only 24 to 1 Maximum.

I have other major problems with them such as bouncing e mails if their server detects a virus or other nastys [wonder why I have Norton on my computer]

Their e mail download speeds - I had 175 e mails at 21-02 and they have just finished downloading at 22-51.

They have the neck to ask €48 for this?

Hope this gives you some idea of what they can be like

Sincerely,

Gerry

Post Dump them

I too was on the Clonsilla site and got a download of only a few K's after a month since Sept 05. Dont waste your time asking for them to do somthing about it, I know, I tried and tried.
They will tell you all the usual porkys about the hi site being upgraded soon etc.

Dont listen to the crap, they peddle this rubbish to keep you handing over your money each month, it's a con!.

Are you one of the people that was told that your phone line wont take broadband?.

If the answer is yes, then I suggest you try again as I found that the exchange was upgraded without a word. I then duly got a real provider in, and have enjoyed a glorious bandwith since.

Unhappy Irish Broadband

I've been on the Bray site for nearly a year now ..
On the Breeze 2MB option.
I noticed at certain times the the bandwidth is relatively poor but nowhere near as bad as some of examples above .. 50 - 150 kbps at the bad end, evenings mostly .. better in the daytime obviously. 100-250 kbps avg mostly.

Unfortunately wireless is my only option for the moment, so wanted to see what the experiences elsewhere were. I suppose I should be relatively satisfied in the grand scheme of things. I'm at their mercy.

Any other wireless operators ?

p.s did'nt notice the IBB section .. I'll post there from now on .. Thanks.
