Default Meteor Speed Test

Hi Al.

Just a bit of info re Meteor.
I signed up with them for full package 20 TV Cannels, up to 8 mb broadband and free local and national calls.
Sounds great.
However, there are drawbacks.

1 They only guarantee 1 TV connection for good quality picture. Tried with 2,3 and 4 and lots of picture freezing/jumping.

2 Up to 8Mb Broadband means if you are in a very new house with fibreoptics. Watch out for the "UP TO" bit. The package i was on was giving me +/- 1mb not 8.

3 Phone quality very inconsistent. They told me to ping google.ie (go to dos, type in "ping www.google.ie -t, Ctl+c to end)) and this would give me an idea of how fast the connection was. some parts of the days 40 to 50 Ms(good) others >120Ms. Lost every 2nd word, sounded like you were talking into a tin can.

Lokks like I will be going back to Eircom for part or all of the package (without TV),

Any other have similar experience
