Default NorthWest Electronics

Hi
I am a customer of NorthWest Electronics [www.nwewn.com] based in Donegal/Derry. They are a wireless broadband provider. Does anyone else on this forum have any experience with them? Although I am happy enough with their service (enough to recommend them to about 20 friends), their advertised speeds can be way off the mark with reality, and there has been about 10% down-time in the past 30 days.

Thanks
Kevin Shields

Default How would you rate NWE Wireless now?

Hi Kevin,

I was thinking of signing up with NWE (if I can get their signal). How has your experience of them been so far? Does Skype/VoIP work consistently well with them? How about torrents (if you use them)?
Would you still recommend them?

Thanks for your help,

Steven

Default North West Electronics

Hi Steven

I am still using and recommending NWE. The service has improved in terms of reliability but the wait for installation is now about 3 months.

I use VoIP with NWE basic package and it works fine. My config uses DLink wireless router, Linksys ATA and the Blueface service. I have installed this config several times for existing NWE customers. If you need same, just let me know.

Torrent downloads are OK. A typical DVD film download (1MB+) will take you about a day to download but that’s not too much hassle since you are always online working in the background.

Regards

Hey Kevin,

Thanks for your reply, appreciate it.

Sounds good apart from the 3 month installation wait..
