Question

There was a permanet engineer fitting a dish next door last week, I asked him about the speed problems. He told me they were tapping into a cable line in Tralee, this will solve the speed problems in Kerry and prices will drop. It should be about 3 to 4 weeks.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Check again after 7pm or 8pm just to make sure. My speeds weren't too good even today (off peak), was getting 700-800kbps on 2mb line. Also I'm on the Knockanore mast.

Default KBB closed for hols. permanet expanding big time

Has anyone seen the message on kerrybroadband site. Kerry Broadband what are customers supposed to do for support!

I know plenty of permanet customers and they are very happy lately with the speeds in the evening, it seems permanet have invested heavily and will be making a major announcment later in the summer and launching a huge advertising campaign. It will be interesting to see how this battle turns out. I'm in an area myself where I can't get permnet but from what i hear from folks who have it most are very happy and their support and customer care is very personal and efficient. Why are we a country full of begrudgers!

Thumbs up

I rarely speak on forums but I wanted to add my say. permanet have really pulled out all the stops on dis one. they had problems b4 but now have started to do something about it. im in tralee myself and getting great speeds lately at night. Im not sure what pack it is me da pays da bill

was jus lookin at their homepage and you can follem em on twitter now and today they say they r upgrading one of der masts the Knockanore one I think dats the one for ballybunnion. I would stick with them they know what the r doing and im going to give em a chance to get it better.

you can get permanet them on the phone straight away, b4 you had to leave a messaeg and call back dat suked its a lot better now and if you need to have a home visit they get an engineer out very quickly

I pity people with Kerry broadband who are having problems dis week. What kind of service is this, this is the message on their page

I might seem like a moaning old bugger, well my wife says I am, I would just like to see a connection that stays near to the advertised speeds and a bit cheaper.
PermaNET's customer service is excellent, they are quick to come out if there is a problem, great on the phone and always helpful.

Have to agree with you on that,Recently had an issue with my blueface voip connection turned out it was down to permanet,Emailed them with as much info as I could and within as mins the connection was up again but abit dodgy,Next day it was back 100%.

Sadly due to the terrible contention in the evenings voip is unusable,Would like to upgrade to a quicker package but prices are too much,Is the person who mentioned price drops was telling the truth I'd be delighted but at the moment I'm just counting down the days till I can get a cheap reliable ASDL line

If they really want to compete,They should be supplying a 1mb/128kb service for under €25 and for €30 a 2mb/128-256kbs service,Which sticks to or near the speed they list.

Edit:Can people on the in Kerry on slibhmish mast do a tracert to google? And see if you really are on a irish cable connection now.
