I have recently subscribed to broadband from PermaNet, all ok todate. I was hoping to be able to get rid of me Eircom landline and use the broadband connection instead, problem is in need an anologue connection for my house alarm. Is there any piece of kit i can get to add to my PermaNET Arris modem to allow analogue dialout.

Be very careful about commiting an alarm system to broadband over wireless, there may be implications for the insurance, in that things like a power failure will knock the alarm out, whereas a power fail on a phone will still allow the alarm to make an outgoing call, as there is battery backup on the alarm, and the line gets it's power from the exchange. If you get an insurance discount on the basis of having a monitored alarm, you might at a minimum invalidate that discount, and at worst your alarm company might not be notified of an alarm.
