Exclamation Extending Wireless with 2 routers

Hello,
Anyone had any experience setting up two wireless routers to extend your range? I have two Netopia Eircom 2247NWG routers which seem to support wireless bridging but I can't get it to work. These modems appear to be limited by Eircom somehow, they have a soft of custom firmware so maybe thats a problem.
Any idea what SSID's and channels I should be using?
I've been using the same SSID but different channels and turning off DHCP on one of the modems - thats the best conclusion I could come up with from seaching the net but I'm begining to think it can't be done with these modems.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

hi
your probably answering your own question, there are wireless extenders out there that will help to extend your network without the dual router set-up.

Choose on the routers to be your "router" and another one to be the wireless "extender". Turn DHCP off on your wireless extender box. You then need to run a cable from one of the LAN ports on your "router" and plug it into one of the LAN ports on your "extender". Connect JUST the "router" box to the phoneline - ie. the "extender" does NOT connect to your phoneline, just the "router".

This way the "extender" will bridge the connection from your "router" box - the router box does all the routing, IP address and is the only box that connects to the phoneline. The "extender" box has just one LAN connection to it (and power obviously!), no phoneline connection.
