Default Belkin USB receivers

Odd incident with a wireless set up over the weekend that maybe someone here can help with. I have a broadband connection set up wirelessly within the house connecting a canyon router to two belkin USB receivers on two PCs. Am having some issues with the actual ISP connection, but the internal has been working reasonably ok. On Monday, with no-one using either PC, but both on and connected, both Belkins simultaneously de-installed themselves. The PCs were built by different people, so they have little in common other then being Windows XP, and the only recent thing that was done to them was the loading of an anti-virus software package, but this was running fine for a few days.

Anyone any idea what might cause this?

It's an odd one ...
Have you been able to reinstall them?

Was able to reinstall from disk in the end. They keep doing odd things like switching channels and de-encrypting though.

I'm not familiar with them, but is there any update to firmware or drivers available?
