Default voyager2110

Hello there,

Might be the wrong place to be asking but here goes..When i first got connected
with Perlico i opted to get the wireless router too..I switched to Digiweb not long after, Perlico's quota's were horrendous..Anyway i've been trying to use the wireless router with my Digiweb connection, but it wouldn't work and i've since been told it's configured to only work with a Perlico connection..So what i'm looking for is a way around this, if there is any..Cheers!!!!

Dont know if this is any help but i recieved the voyager 2110 as part of a package from UTV so it is used with other isp's. I doubt if they would have configured the router for their system. Was it in the origional box?

I'm sure it was configured for Perlico's service, but I doubt it would be hard configured. In saying that I mean it's likely that you can re-configure it to work with any DSL ISP.

When you say it doesn't work, do you mean that it won't connect to the internet or that it won't route the connections wired or wirelessly? I'm sure it's the former-most, but please be specific about the problem.

In the meantime, have a look at this: DIGIWEB – Irish broadband internet & phone. Metro, Wireless, DSL & Satellite

Be sure you have your connection settings in the router set as specified in the above URL. Pay close attention to the DNS servers. Also, it might seem obvious, but make sure you have the correct username and password entered that you would have received from Digiweb.

Finally, I know you're from Shannon, right? As I'm from Shannon myself, I can vouch for Esat BT having a decent service in place. I'm using them now for just over a year, and I'm as satisfied as I'm going to be where ADSL in Ireland is concerned, regardless of the ISP. Esat BT offer the best prices around. They have not yet been beaten. All you have to do is pay your line rental with them and take their phone service (which is fine, and cheaper than Eircom's). With that, for the top broadband package of 3mbps, you'll pay only €50 a month which includes your line rental (usually about €25 a month).

See: http://www.esat.ie/echannel/BTres.po...Label=homePage

Seriously, take a peek and you may be in for saving cash.

Oh, and no I don't work for BT and I'm not a salesman.

G'luck,
Seifer.

It's not a big deal..My internet is fine, i'm more than happy with the service..I rang Perlico asking about using the modem with another service provider, they told me it was tied to Perlico contract and it wouldn't work with a Digiweb line..i kept the Perlico for phone calls, it's 30 a month with free landline calls and since i have blocked being able to call mobiles i don't think i'll get a better deal anywhere else.

Edit: i had actually enquired about EsatBt, didn't know they were Esat..Thing that turned me off was the 30gig download llimit, i get 40 with Digi..

Well, I suppose for the extra 10 on the cap it's somewhat worth it. Hope it all goes well. What I'd do is just try to enter the router. To find the IP address you'd need to type into your browser to gain access, just go to:

Start>Run --> type in "cmd" (no quotes)

In the command prompt window, type "ipconfig" (again no quotes) and see the Default Gateway. That's the router and beside it is the IP you'll need.

Good luck.
