Default Phone Line down

Have eircom phone line and broadband, on saturday last everything was working fine up til 12am, went to bed, the next day when I went to try the net, the dsl was down, then i noticed that the phone was dead also, in that there was no power to the phone itself (which I believe comes thru the phone line). Checked the wiring in the house and the wire to the house from the pole it seemed to be fine, no mouse chewed wires or anything. Just wondering what could cause such a catastrophic disconnection of the line. Am living near Tramore on old waterford road, and there doesn't seem to be any lines down, also neighbors phones are fine?

Thanks for any info on this!

Default Line down?

Hi,
I can think of several reasons for a 'dead' phone line, including an unpaid account. There could be something as simple as a bad joint in the cabling anywhere between your telephone/modem and the local exchange. Could also be an electronic fault at the exchange itself and this may not affect your neighbours, just your number. Suggest you contact Eircom Faults, if you haven't done so already.
Cheers,
Dickiesam
