Default Smart Telecom vs. Irish Broadband

Just noticed that there are no complaints in this Smart Telecom forum about the broadband speed of Smart Telecoms service. Quality of service at the end of the day is what counts, isn't it ???

Nip on over to the IBB forum and take a look at the amount of complaints regarding the speed and quality of the service that IBB offer. I think you will find that that the number of complaints against Smart Telecom pales in comparison to the number against
Irish Broadband.

And yes, i'm another disgruntled IBB customer !

Don't forget that IBB have been around for longer and probably have more clients using their services than Smart.....

Absolutely - the last time I checked, they had only over 1000 subscribers to the broadband. And due to the massive capacity on each exchange due to low subscriber numbers at the moment, we won't really know how the system will handle if they manage to get all 30000 odd people they claim to have signed up. And although speed isn't an issue with Smart, a good few people have been suffering connection reliability issues. IBB, on the other hand seem to be piling people on each base station, and don't forget also, that each base station has to handle in some cases, 2Mb each way per customer, Smart only have to handle 128k up and 2Mb down per customer.

Default Still waiting...

I have just got a Irish Broadband Ripwave as an interim solution until Smart Telecom eventually rolls out. I signed up for Smart back in April, it is now November and I'm still waiting. The last time I phoned customer services I was told there was no guarantee that I would get connected before the year end. In the meantime I'll give IBB ripwave a try and if it doesn't work out, I understand I can return the modem and cancel my susbscription.

So much for Smart "rolling out in 2005".
