Default Bye bye eircom......and good ridance!

That's it. A constant 60kb/s download rate on eircom bb with the 2mb package. I have looked at smarts packages, and they look far more promising.

I just wondered if anyone using smart (anywhere) has encountered the same problems with Smart? and I'm no more than 2 miles from the exchange.

Even though it kind of speaks for itself, with the amount of ranting posts in this forum....being next to none.

All I want is reliable service...is that too mush to ask?

Did you ever find out what your problems with Eircom were that causing your slow speeds? Because chances are if it's a line fault, then the same problem that caused you problems with eircom will cause you problems with smart too, as they both use the same physical copper line. Also, technical support can be a bit iffy at times, especially for fairly technical issues. Other than that though, the service is good, it's FAST and most of all it's bloody cheap!!!

well, there's an engineer coming out to look at the line, but they're already half saying that it's an acceptable speed...bastards!!

I get 200kb+ at night (1am - 6am) and 60kb at other times. Im sure there's a fault with the line as both the lan and wireless are switching off after a couple of hours, on two different computers.

Anyway, hopefully eircom will "fix" the line, and soon after, i will switch to smart.

Currently paying 60 (including line rental etc) for this ****ty service.

P.S does that whole turning on and off thing sound like a faulty line to you?
