Default My experience with UTV Interent

So I joined UTV Internet in May 2007 on the Northern Ireland option 4 price plan. At first I thought everything was fine until I looked at pings. To England they were 20ms more (65ms to jolt) with interleaving turned on.
Secondly when I signed up there was no option for a static IP and noticed that some of my ports were blocked!, so I had to ring them up and they took about 10 minutes to answer. 3 or so days later I got my static IP and they ports were unblocked.

Then a week or so later I noticed I had been getting disconnected every 2 days so I rang them up and they told me this is what they do to every customer to update the usage log. Now alot of people wouldn't really notice this but I sure did and wasn't going to put up with it as any other ISP don't do this.

I then requested for a MAC in August 2007 to leave and pay a £40 leaving fee. Speeds were always great with them but the customer service was very slow (email and phone) and they seem to keep changing their website design.

I wouldn't recommend many people to use UTV unless you don't mind getting cut off every 48 hours and having to wait 10 minutes for phone support.

I'm still with the UTV Talk as it's good value for money though and wasn't going to pay for 2 early cancellation fees.

Default UTV Interent

more than a year and never less than lousy. Regular for them to be off for days at a time. LOUSY tech advise ("switch off for half an hour" - no kidding)
or "Contact Eircom" !! Garbage. Any excuse to fob you off. Then when I left they used my cc number without my permission to charge me 30euro as a disconnect fee. I complained to Visa, and got my money back after a long time and the excuse from UTV accounts that they had been charged 30 euro by Eircom. C R A P.
