Default Useless TV???

OK I have used UTV for a couple of years now but had severe problems when I moved house last year. I have sent in a few trouble tickets recently and they are not being replied to and I know if I phone I will hear that annoying tune for about an hour before I get through. Anyway I am annoyed that my service has been upgraded without any prior notification. So now I have 3megs which is great but it seems to be running slower than before with my 2meg.

It would appear that the onlinew test is fine with 2.5 meg, but pages and the like are so slow coming through. Upload speeds seem to be better and have tested with audio streams upto 256k without drop outs.

Is there somehting wrong with my line or is it a teething problem with UTV?

If the test is showing an acceptable speed might it be a DNS issue?

Are you running DNS on your router?

Angry UTV & dns

Alright Liam?
I've been with UTV a year myself, had enough of dealing with Eircom. For the most part they have been fine, but recently i've been left without a connection, and it's not just for a hour or two either. I phoned today and in fairness they didn't take very long to answer and said that they had trouble with the DNS at the weekend but it's been resolved. No apology, nadda. Ever since my connection has been sluggish. 65% and 59% service results. Furthermore, no one has contacted me to ask me if I'd like to renew my contract or if I've been happy with the service over the past year. So much for keeping existing customers happy.

Well, like you, I too would like to know how I'd know anything about my dns and router relationship.

Feel much better now.

Best,

Bird
