Local call rate from anywhere in the country. (Think I saw that on blueface or voice ireland)

Not sure if I'd want to have an 076 number though. I'm sure I would get fed up with gob****es asking "Jaysus where is 076? Are ye in Leitrim?"

Anyone tried www.smart076.ie
They are part of Smart Telecom phone/brodband provider.
You can get an instant 076 number just by registering.
No credit card required.
This gives you an076 number that receives calls at a local rate.

They also have a few special offers including:
What looks like yammoto voip phone for E 40.
Linksys PAP2 Analogue Telephone Adapter for E75 Including €15 call credit
Automatic answering to email.

Perlico also offer VoIP. www.perlico.com/voip.

Client is very basic but call quality is good and cheap. You dial non geo numbers (e.g. 1890, 1800 etc) which is a major disadvantage over Skype.

Just used up the last of my Voipstunt credit and have changed over to Voipcheap, same excellent call quality and even better prices, like you say 9c Irish mobile calls, which outside of "mobile to mobile, own network" must be the cheapest going.

My mates on "holiday" in Thailand for a month and got himself a local sim out there, calls to Thai mobiles are free with voipcheap, was on the blower for about 10 mins this afternoon but there was a bit of a delay on the line which was a bit of a pain, but it beats giving Eircon 86cent a min.!

I've also been using voipcheap's dialback facility to make international calls from my mobile. Just put in my mates Thai mobile number and my mobile and hey presto 9c/min mobile call to Thailand. You do need access to a pc to setup the call, I just did it as I went out the door to work and chatted away for the journey. Someone could do it remotely for you, secratary etc. Perhaps they will get a wap facitity in the future. Don't know what Vodafone would have charged for the call, but I'm sure it would have been more than Eircom's 86c from landline.

Default Dial back brilliant

The dial back facility just brilliant! Was on to my pal down under for 50 mins at lunch time from my work phone for 3c ! as opposed to €42.88 with eircom! A wap version would be just cool! but I could imagine the mobile telcos blocking the site!

Default How long will it last?

I agree Voipcheap is good but how long will the free landline calls last? Will they wait till they have hooked everyone in then start charging? I guess we'll have to wait and see....

The post prior to yours, Blacknight, has a link to a very informative site. I'm STILL using VoipStunt and POIVY via an ATA. No issues really.
